West Ham United have reportedly made a fresh attempt to secure the services of Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz, as per claims in the Turkish media.
The 24-year-old winger, who impressed during Euro 2024 with his performances for Turkey, has been linked with a move to the Premier League, sparking interest from various English clubs. Hurriyet reports that West Ham have recently submitted a formal bid in their pursuit of the player, further intensifying transfer speculation.
The Offer on the Table
According to the report, West Ham’s proposal consists of an initial payment of €25 million, supplemented by €5 million in potential add-ons, bringing the total package to €30 million. Despite this substantial offer, Galatasaray have firmly rejected the bid. The Turkish champions are reportedly unwilling to part ways with one of their key players during this transfer window as they remain committed to their campaigns on multiple fronts, including domestic and European competitions.
Galatasaray’s Stance
Barış Alper Yılmaz remains an integral part of Galatasaray’s plans for the current season. With his contract at the club running until June 2027, Galatasaray retain a strong negotiating position and are reportedly determined to retain the player until the summer.
While the Turkish giants have rebuffed West Ham’s approach, the possibility of Yılmaz leaving at the end of the season remains open, particularly if an appealing offer arrives. Galatasaray are focused on their immediate objectives and view Yılmaz as crucial to achieving success across their competitions this year.
Premier League Interest Continues
West Ham are not the only English club eyeing Yılmaz. Earlier in the transfer window, Nottingham Forest were also linked with the right winger, further emphasizing his rising profile in European football.
For now, Barış Alper Yılmaz will remain a Galatasaray player, but with his growing reputation, interest from the Premier League is likely to persist in future windows.
