Last summer, Kosta Nedeljković joined Aston Villa following an agreement with Red Star Belgrade finalized in January 2024.
This season, the 19-year-old right-back has made nine appearances, logging a total of 342 minutes. Despite showing promise, Nedeljković is currently behind Matty Cash in Aston Villa’s pecking order under manager Unai Emery.
According to Bild, VfL Wolfsburg has identified the Aston Villa ‘super talent’ as a target for the upcoming winter transfer window. The German publication highlights that Wolfsburg is eager to acquire the Serbian defender, who has already represented his country at the senior level six times. Furthermore, the report states that Nedeljković is attracting interest from multiple Bundesliga clubs, even though he has yet to secure regular game time at Villa Park.
Wolfsburg is reportedly looking to ‘lure’ the teenager away in January, aiming to arrange a loan move with an option to buy. However, specific figures or terms for such a deal have not been disclosed.
Nedeljković’s current contract with Aston Villa runs until 2029, and there is no clarity regarding the player’s or the club’s position on including a purchase option or obligation as part of any potential loan agreement.
