Player gives approval to join Aston Villa in January – ‘Waiting’ for formal offer from Emery’s side

On Wednesday, reports emerged from Spain suggesting Aston Villa have shown interest in Sevilla defender Loïc Badé. Initial claims indicated Villa had made a low offer of €15m plus bonuses for the Frenchman.

However, later that day, Estadio Deportivo clarified that while Aston Villa are serious about pursuing the 24-year-old, no formal bid has been tabled yet. Talks have advanced, with Aston Villa officials and Badé’s agent meeting Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta in his office on Tuesday.

Badé’s Willingness to Join Aston Villa
According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, Badé is open to joining Unai Emery’s squad and making a move to the Premier League. While the center-back is keen on the transfer, he isn’t pressuring Sevilla to finalize a deal, leaving negotiations firmly in the hands of both clubs.

Sevilla’s Stance on Badé
Sevilla are reportedly holding out for a fee between €25m and €30m for Badé in January. The Andalusian club is “waiting” for Aston Villa to submit a formal offer to move the deal forward. The report highlights that Sevilla will not entertain player swap deals as part of any negotiations; they are focused solely on a cash transfer.

The Diego Carlos Factor
For Villa to advance with Badé, they first need to resolve the situation with Diego Carlos. The Brazilian defender, formerly of Sevilla, has been offered to Turkish clubs. However, Carlos reportedly prefers a return to Sevilla, a move Sevilla is hesitant about due to Villa’s €12m valuation. Instead, Sevilla are open to a temporary loan for Carlos but remain uninterested in committing to a permanent deal at this stage.

As it stands, Aston Villa must find a solution for Diego Carlos before they can fully commit to signing Loïc Badé. Whether a formal bid materializes soon will depend on the club’s ability to address this ongoing challenge and align with Sevilla’s demands.
