Now, a fresh update from Africa Foot states both Aston Villa and RB Leipzig have advanced discussions with Caen, although the Premier League side appears to have the upper hand.
Despite relatively modest statistics this season—two goals and two assists in 20 appearances for the Ligue 2 side—Gomis’ impressive performances and potential have attracted scouts from both Villa and Leipzig. Unai Emery’s side initially tabled a bid that failed to meet Caen’s expectations. Undeterred, Villa have returned with a second offer exceeding €4 million, signaling their strong intent to secure the youngster.
RB Leipzig have also made an offer for the France U18 international, though details about their bid remain under wraps.
