Recent reports have highlighted Aston Villa’s strong interest in Sevilla’s 24-year-old defender Loïc Badé, with speculation intensifying after sporting director Monchi visited Sevilla’s Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium over the weekend.
According to ABC Sevilla, Monchi has initiated preliminary talks with Sevilla but must first arrange for the departure of Diego Carlos before advancing negotiations for Badé. The Brazilian defender’s exit is seen as a key step in facilitating Villa’s move for the Frenchman.
Despite these reports, Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta stated on Tuesday that the La Liga club has not yet received a formal offer for Badé from Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Vamos Mi Sevilla FC confirms that discussions between the two clubs have begun, providing additional details about Villa’s initial proposal. Unai Emery’s side has reportedly tabled an offer of €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses. The offer leverages Sevilla’s current financial challenges, but the Spanish club is seeking €22 million plus €5 million in bonuses and has also requested Carlos on loan, with Villa covering half of his wages.
For Aston Villa to successfully sign Badé, Diego Carlos’ exit is considered “essential,” as Sevilla views him as a cost-effective replacement for their outgoing player.
Further talks are scheduled to take place between Aston Villa and Sevilla on Wednesday, with the clubs aiming to bridge the valuation gap and finalize a potential deal.
